Elizabeth Cappo Gallo, MA, MFA, E-RYT, LPC

Elizabeth Gallo studies and teaches movement, mindfulness, and mental wellness in the Chicago area. 

Elizabeth is a Licensed Professional Counselor, having earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Her clinical work explores the intersection of mind and body and informed by somatics, polyvagal theory, Adlerian psychology, and more.

A graduate of the ShaktiBody yoga teacher training program in Maplewood, NJ, Elizabeth also holds certifications in prenatal and baby and me yoga, Curvy Yoga and chair yoga. She has also studied Iyengar yoga and yoga therapeutics, yoga for the pelvic floor and trauma informed yoga, further expanding the ways in which she can serve the mindful movement community. Elizabeth is on the faculty of the yoga teacher training program at Heaven Meets Earth Yoga in Evanston, IL, and mentors new teachers privately. In addition to teaching public and private yoga classes, Elizabeth is an accomplished writer, and her nonfiction and poems have been published in numerous yoga and literary journals.  

In addition to her Master of Arts from Adler University, Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University, a Master of Music degree from Duquesne University, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from The New School, and an advanced certificate in secondary education from Lehman College, City University of New York. Elizabeth is a mom, wife, stepmom, knitter, cook and lover of pit bulls.
